DAY 3 - GREYMOUTH - GLACIERS
Prepare yourself for a world of primitive, towering rain forests, bizarre limestone landscapes, dramatic coastlines, lowland river valleys, mountains, grinding glaciers, tranquil lakes, surging rivers, rare birds and plants
HOKITIKA: Home to "Wild Foods Festival" which specialises in gourmet bush tucker. Also a craft mecca - see skilled Jade carvers at work at the Jade Gallery and Studio
SHANTY TOWN: A replica pioneering town, a working gold claim where you can successfully pan for gold, as well as over 30 historic buildings
FRANZ JOSEF AND FOX GLACIERS: These mighty rivers zig zag their way down the valley to end in lush temperate forest - only 20 from the Tasman Sea

HAAST VISITOR CENTRE: Stories of the swamp forests, rivers and coast of South Westland, the evolution of unique species and how people have integrated with the wilderness
HAAST PASS: This highway was once an old greenstone trail used by Maori traders and war parties

THE REMARKABLES: Travel from Queenstown skirting the shore line of Lake Wakatipu past the dramatic peaks of this mountain range, snow caped in Winter
TE ANAU: Morning tea stop (own arrangements) in this town known as the "Gateway to Fiordland"
MILFORD ROAD: Described as one of the most spectacular scenic roads in the world. The lush forest growth west of the Homer Tunnel contrasts with the stark, barren beauty east of the tunnel. We will stop at the Mirror Lakes, the rustic Hollyford Valley and the water worn Chasm. Plenty of photo opportunities along the way.
